About Me
| Author of the Municipal Battlefield
Dwight Boddorf is a municipal leader, author, and combat veteran whose path to public service began with adversity. After experiencing homelessness as a teenager, he joined the United States Marine Corps, where he served in Iraq and survived an IED attack that left lasting injuries. Following his military service, he continued his commitment to others by leading veterans’ initiatives and serving in Veterans Affairs, helping fellow veterans navigate complex systems and rebuild their lives.
He later transitioned into local government, where he has led transformative initiatives in municipal operations, including regional police collaboration, the creation of an EMS authority, and major infrastructure and financial stabilization efforts. Dwight is the author of The Municipal Battlefield: Leading, Surviving, and Winning in Small-Town Government, a practical field guide that brings real-world leadership experience to the often overlooked front lines of local government.
